Antico Palazzo comunale con Pinacoteca Matteo Olivero e Torre civica
includedThe Old Town Hall was erected between 1440 and 1462. Restoration work has recovered the loggias on the ground floor and the terracotta and fresco decorations on the façade.
The hall on the 1st floor, former seat of the Marquisate Congregations, has a coffered ceiling with mythological, symbolic and heraldic decorations dating back to the 15th century. It is currently a venue equipped for conferences, exhibitions and concerts. The Art Gallery located on the 2nd floor is dedicated to Matteo Olivero, a leading figure in Italian Divisionism. It includes around one hundred paintings, drawings and sculptures divided into four thematic areas: The time of social realism, adherence to Divisionism, the 1920s and the working method.
The Civic Tower, built in 1462 and completed with the bell loggia in 1556, is 48 metres high and, in defining the spaces of the upper town, was a sign of the town's community and a symbol of a force independent of marquis power and religious influence. With its 130 steps, it is an exceptional vantage point over the village and the plain as far as Monviso and the Alps.
