Triennale Milano
includedTriennale Milano is an international institution that brings together the languages of contemporary culture: design, architecture, visual and performing arts. A place for exchange and dialogue between art and design, creativity and technology, tradition and innovation. Triennale presents the projects of leading Italian and international architects, designers, artists; it organises exhibitions, meetings, conferences, performances; it proposes new points of view on central themes of current affairs and public debate.
Triennale is based in Milan in the Palazzo dell'Arte, built in 1933 by the Milanese architect Giovanni Muzio and designed as a modular and flexible building. Inside there is a Theatre, with an international and multidisciplinary programme particularly focused on performing art, and, from 2019 (with a new layout in 2023), the Museum of Italian Design, created with the aim of promoting and enhancing the institution's permanent collection, which brings together 1,600 objects among the most iconic and representative pieces of Italian design.
Every three years, Triennale Milano organises the International Exhibition, one of the most important events dedicated to design and architecture.
