Milan (MI)
Chiusura temporanea

The Studio Museo Francesco Messina is a museum of the City of Milan that preserves, inside the deconsecrated church of San Sisto, works by the Sicilian-born sculptor Francesco Messina (1900-1995).
Today, the Studio Museo Francesco Messina also presents itself to the city as a laboratory for research and experimentation in contemporary art.

Opened in 1974, the Francesco Messina Studio Museum is housed in the old deconsecrated church of San Sisto, near the central Via Torino. In fact, the Sicilian artist, but Milanese by adoption, wanted part of his work to be preserved here, thanks to a bequest he made to the City of Milan. The museum, which was also the artist's studio for several years, exhibits about eighty sculptures (plaster casts, polychrome terracotta, bronzes, waxes) and about thirty graphic works (lithographs, pastels, watercolours, pencil drawings).
