SpaziØrsoExpo – Collegiata dei Santi Pietro e Orso di Aosta

The Collegiate Church of Saints Peter and Bear in Aosta, built on an ancient Roman necropolis, is a masterpiece of 11th-century Romanesque architecture, renovated by Bishop Anselm I. Its 12th-century bell tower towers over the square in front of it. The three-nave interior houses Ottonian frescoes and a magnificent floor mosaic. The cloister, with 37 sculpted capitals, tells sacred and symbolic stories. The complex - church, cloister and priory - is among the most precious examples of sacred art in the Aosta Valley.
