Rubiana Municipal Art Gallery Francesco Tabusso

Inaugurated in Rubiana in 2016, the Pinacoteca Comunale Francesco Tabusso (Francesco Tabusso Municipal Art Gallery), in its permanent exhibition, houses over one hundred works by the most significant contemporary Piedmontese artists from the post-World War II period to the present day.
The promoter of this collection was Francesco Tabusso (1930-2012), an artist of international renown who had been particularly attached to the Rubiana area since childhood.
Among the exhibited works: Bombarda's dog, Landscape and a series of 8 silkscreens by the master.
After receiving honorary citizenship from the Rubiana municipality in 2006, Francesco Tabusso, as a sign of gratitude, instituted the 'Fiabe e boschi' (Fairy Tales and Woods) prize: a painting workshop for fifth-year pupils of the G. S. Girodo primary school.
In this initiative, Tabusso was joined by numerous friends - artists of the calibre of Francesco Casorati, Giacomo Soffiantino and Tino Aime - each of whom donated one of their works to the municipal administration: this was the origin of the first exhibition nucleus of the Art Gallery, later implemented by new donations from further artists or by the will of family members and collectors.
