PINACOTECA GIOVANNI E MARELLA AGNELLI
includedThrough research exhibition projects and collaborations with Italian and international institutions, Agnelli Art Gallery establishes itself as a space open to reflection on the urgencies of contemporaneity, attentive to the issues of inclusion and participation of different audiences. This vision is also strengthened by the extension of programming in the spaces of the Track 500, on the roof of the Lingotto.
The exhibition programme is divided into three project lines, united by a coherent curatorial perspective. The common starting point is a reflection on the narratives generated by Lingotto's industrial heritage and the museum's identity, historically linked to its permanent collection.
Twenty years after the inauguration of the Casket designed by Renzo Piano, the Pinacoteca introduces for the first time an exhibition project dedicated to the reactivation of the permanent collection, investigating its presences and absences. From time to time, a work from the Agnelli Collection is placed in dialogue with works from international institutions, making the collection a privileged point of observation for rethinking art history and historiography, as well as a critical tool for interpreting the present.
The temporary programming focuses on projects conceived and produced by the gallery specifically for its spaces, including both monographic exhibitions devoted to contemporary artists and group exhibitions exploring trans-historical and multi-generational paths.
The new programming finally extends to the iconic track on the roof of the Lingotto: the former circuit used by the FIAT for car testing is opened to the public for the first time through an art installation project, becoming a meeting space between art, architecture and urban landscape.
