included Past the Barberino hill, behind the playful monuments of Cividate Camuno, is the Sanctuary of Minerva at Spinera di Breno. An ancient centre of the town's extra-urban cult, the area is now a charming Archaeological Park, conveniently accessible thanks to a cycle-pedestrian path that runs alongside the river.
Discovered in 1986 and returned to the public in 2007, the Sanctuary of Minerva is a site of rare beauty, where the sacredness of nature blends harmoniously with the grandeur of Roman architecture. The structures, admirably preserved, are today protected by a modern cover that guarantees their perfect usability. Under the gaze of the goddess, visitors can relive the rituals of two thousand years ago, exploring the sacred spaces at the foot of the hill from which the spring water flowed, all supported by an accurate bilingual didactic apparatus.
