PALAZZO LA MARMORA
includedPalazzo La Marmora, located in the historic village of Piazzo, is a House Museum shaped by the 17 generations of the Ferrero della Marmora family, today the Mori Ubaldini of the Alberti La Marmora family. It has preserved its unified architectural structure and is distinguished by its neoclassical façade. On the ground floor, in the Sala del Camino, Sala dei Castelli, Salotto Verde, Sala dell'Alcova and Sala dei Motti everything speaks of the people who lived here: from Sebastiano Ferrero, general of Finance of the Duchy of Milan in the 16th century, to the ambassador Filippo Ferrero della Marmora who sealed royal marriages in the 18th century; from Raffaella, mother of the generals, to the descendants of Leon Battista Alberti. The garden overlooking Biella is cosy: on one side, the Greenhouse with a Ficus Repens centenary, on the other the octagonal tower from the early 16th century. In summer 2021, the Great Gallery overlooking the Garden was opened on the first floor. Next to this is the Ballroom with frescoes by the Galliari brothers and the Billiard Room with an exhibition dedicated to the Risorgimento and the four La Marmora brothers.
