PALAZZO CAVOUR
Turin (TO)
The statesman Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, was born here on 10 August 1810, and lived and died here. It was built in 1729 by the engineer Giovanni Giacomo Plantery, at the behest of Michele Antonio Cavour, gentleman of King Carlo Emanuele III of Savoy and Camillo's grandfather. It was here that the newspaper Il Risorgimento was founded and the fate of the new Italian homeland was discussed by the most illustrious figures of the time.
