included The Botanical Garden was created with the aim of enhancing the mountain and alpine flora, with particular attention to the beech forests that characterise the Oropa landscape. Owned by the Sanctuary of Oropa and managed by the WWF Oasi e Aree Protette Piemontesi OdV, the site is immersed in the Sacro Monte di Oropa Special Reserve, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Located at an altitude of 1,200 metres, the Oropa Botanical Garden is a biodiversity treasure chest dedicated to mountain and alpine flora. The heart of the exhibition celebrates the local beech forests, an identifying element of the woods surrounding the Sanctuary.
An integral part of the Oasis System of the WWF Italy, the Garden is owned by the Sanctuary of Oropa and has been managed with passion since 1998 by the WWF Piedmontese Oases and Protected Areas OdV. Immersed in the Sacro Monte di Oropa Special Reserve - World Heritage UNESCO - the site is officially recognised by the Piedmont Region as an Area of Botanical Interest.
