included Its purpose is to raise awareness of mountain and alpine flora, in particular that linked to the Beech tree that characterises the woods around Oropa. Owned by the Sanctuary of Oropa, it is entrusted to the management of the WWF Oasis and Protected Areas of Piedmont OdV. The area is within the Sacro Monte di Oropa Special Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Situated at an altitude of 1,200 m, its aim is to raise awareness of mountain and alpine flora, in particular that related to the Beech tree that characterises the forests around Oropa.
The Oropa Botanical Garden is a structure included in the WWF Italy Oasis System. Owned by the Oropa Sanctuary, it has been managed by the WWF Oasis and Protected Areas of Piedmont OdV under an agreement since 1998.
The area is within the Special Reserve of Sacro Monte di Oropa, a protected area of the Region of Piedmont and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Botanical Garden is an Area of Botanical Interest of the Region of Piedmont pursuant to Regional Law 22/1983.
