MUSLI | MUSEO DELLA SCUOLA E DEL LIBRO PER L’INFANZIA

The School Route provides an insight into the school reality of the late 19th and early 20th century. The Book Route, on the other hand, offers a journey of discovery of children's books.
The Museum of School and Children's Books is the main emanation of the Tancredi di Barolo Foundation, an institution that is linked to the pedagogical initiatives promoted in the first half of the 19th century by the Marquises of Barolo. Located inside the Baroque aristocratic residence of Palazzo Barolo, the MUSLI offers an evocative itinerary through the world of schools and books between the 19th and 20th centuries and proposes two visit itineraries. The SCHOOL COURSE provides an up-close look at the school world at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, through the reconstruction of classrooms with the original furnishings of the time and the display of books, games and various didactic materials. The BOOK COURSE offers an itinerary to discover children's literature, with pop-up books, precious historical editions and interactive multimedia stations. The layout is completed by the reconstruction of the 19th century printing house of Eredi Botta, a historical presence on the premises of Palazzo Barolo.
