MÚSES | ACCADEMIA EUROPEA DELLE ESSENZE
includedMÚSES - European Academy of Essences is the cultural hub conceived by the Association The Lands of Savoy to celebrate Piedmont's centuries-old tradition of medicinal herbs. Hosted in the prestigious setting of Taffini d'Acceglio Palace in Savigliano - a city that is a symbol of herbalist culture thanks to the University of Turin's degree course - the museum collects the legacy of the 19th-century agricultural experiments of Racconigi Castle.
Since 2015, the Palace has been transformed into a modern Academia Garden, where the visitor embarks on a timeless sensory journey. The journey begins in the Garden of Essences, a treasure trove of biodiversity among native species such as the Mint of Pancalieri, and then winding through 13 multimedia rooms. Here, contemporary art installations lead to the discovery of legendary figures: from the workshop of Empress Zoe Porphyrogenita to the creativity of Giovanni Maria Farina, creator of Eau de Cologne. The experience culminates in the Hall of the Gods, where 24 refined Murano glass olfactors guard the secrets of the world's great olfactory families.
