Villa Bernasconi proposes a new idea of a museum: an experience that actively and emotionally involves the visitor, placing him or her at the centre of the narrative and making him or her feel truly “at home”. The museum is in fact a house that speaks: it is the Villa itself that guides the museum tour through a first-person narrative.

One moves freely through the environments, accompanied by the #vocidivilla, living a contemporary, multisensory and interactive cultural experience, amidst historical documents, works of art and multimedia content that invite you to rummage through drawers or pick up the phone.

The visit begins outside, with sound suggestions, and spreads over the two noble floors of the Villa, articulated in ten rooms that correspond to the rooms of a house. On the mezzanine floor, with the dining room and music room, the historical, artistic and cultural context of the early 20th century and the Belle Époque, a period of which the Villa embodies the spirit of modernity and the profound social, economic and aesthetic transformations.

On the upper floor, once used for bedrooms and bathrooms, the story focuses on the figure of the entrepreneur Davide Bernasconi, about his family and the company he founded, the Tessiture Bernasconi. An itinerary that highlights the innovative role of the company and its impact on the Como silk district and the territory, in direct dialogue with contemporary creativity.
