Torre Pellice (TO)
included
The Waldensian museum is located in Torre Pellice where the main Waldensian buildings of the town are located, including the Waldensian House, seat of the annual Synod. It traces Waldensian history from its origins through a historical and an ethnographic section. Founded in 1889 and currently managed by the Waldensian Cultural Centre Foundation, the museum is located in the premises of the former Waldensian boarding school in Torre Pellice.

The first section tells the story of the Waldensians from their origins (1174) to the present day through an articulated and interactive itinerary. In the second section, of an ethnographic nature, the environments of home, school and work are reconstructed and the cycle of life in the Waldensian Valleys between the 18th and 19th centuries is depicted with original furnishings and objects. Over the years the Waldensian Museum has greatly increased its tangible and intangible heritage and shares cultural projects with organisations both in Italy and abroad.
Today, there are many activities to promote Protestant culture organised by the Waldensian Cultural Centre Foundation in which the Museum is embedded, which also welcomes visitors to the Waldensian Valleys Eco-Historical Museum System of which the Waldensian Museum is the leader.
Temporary exhibitions dedicated to Waldensian history, the Waldensian valleys and Italian and European Protestantism are connected to the Museum.
