Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci
includedThe Leonardo da Vinci National Science and Technology Museum, founded in 1953, is today one of Europe's largest technical-scientific museums. Located in the former cloisters of a 16th-century Olivetan monastery, it covers an area of around 50,000 square metres, offering a journey through past, present and future.
Among the must-see attractions are the Leonardo da Vinci Galleries, the world's largest permanent exhibition dedicated to the Tuscan genius. This spectacular tour includes 170 historical models, works of art, ancient books and installations, which tell the story of Leonardo as an engineer, humanist and scholar of nature.
For the little ones, the Playlab offers an innovative experience for children aged 3 to 6 years, including art installations, playful activities and unique historical objects. The Museum also offers a rich variety of exhibitions and workshops dedicated to topics such as astronomy, space, energy, transport, food, genetics and particle physics.
Among the many extraordinary objects of wonder are the submarine Toti, the catamaran Luna Rossa, the brig schooner Ebe, the liner Conte Biancamano, and the only fragment of the Moon visible in Italy.
On weekends and holidays, the Museum offers a lively programme of activities, including guided tours, interactive workshops, virtual reality experiences and live role-playing games, such as the Mars Base adventure.
