The National Mountain Museum is a centre dedicated to mountain cultures. Founded in 1874 on the initiative of the first members of the Alpine Club, it is located on Turin's Monte dei Cappuccini: a panoramic position from which one can admire the Alpine arc and the city.
The Mountain Museum offers two floors of permanent exhibitions and a rich programme of temporary exhibitions dedicated to all aspects of the highlands; the Olympic Courtyard and the panoramic terrace with the Vedetta Alpina; the Documentation Area with the Museum archives and the CAI National Library; a Meeting Area for events, educational activities and a restaurant.
