Museo etnologico missionario
Castelnuovo Don Bosco (AT)

The Missionary Ethnological Museum in Colle Don Bosco bears witness to the worldwide horizon of the charismatic dream of St. John Bosco during his youthful years.
It is dedicated to Card. Giovanni Cagliero, placed by Don Bosco himself at the head of the first Salesian missionary expedition to Argentina in 1875.

The collection comprises around 10,000 objects from the four non-European continents and brought by Salesian missionaries working in 134 countries around the world.
The objects, which arrived in Italy in 1925, are of various types and are intended to accompany the visitor towards a deeper knowledge of the ethnic groups encountered by the Salesian missionaries.
The exhibition, divided into continents, starts in Latin America and then moves on to Africa, Asia and Oceania.
