Ethnographic Museum
MUSEO DELLA VALLE DI ZOGNO
includedIn 1982, the museum's excellence was sealed in Stockholm with the special mention of the’European Museum of the Year Award, This award recognises the high quality of the exhibition and the value of the collections.
The museum route runs through twelve thematic rooms which carefully reconstruct the environments of the past: from the blacksmith's forge to the traditional kitchen, from the bedroom to places of social life such as the tavern. Sections devoted to weaving, popular religiosity and old-time trades (from the cobbler to the dairyman) offer a vivid insight into rural everyday life, complemented by a section devoted to archaeology and palaeontology (currently being refurbished).
The offer is enhanced by an annex building dedicated to the temporary exhibitions and an outdoor area housing old means of transport and agricultural machinery. Here, the objects are not mere relics, but fragments of life evoked in their original context: the house, the stable, the fields. Each piece of equipment recounts the ingenuity and resilience of the Bergamasque mountain man, testifying to a creativity that continues to inspire the present.
