includedWhere did the name money come from? Who invented the banknote and why? How did the Euro come into being?
These and many other questions are answered in a simple, clear and playful way by the Savings Museum.
Born in 2012 on the initiative of Intesa Sanpaolo, is the world's first museum dedicated to the’financial education, an innovative multimedia workshop that aims to improve the basic financial skills of adults, young people and children by using the ’financial literacy' approach.’edutainment and the game-based learning.
Within the Museum rooms, audiovisual and interactive materials (3D videos, documentaries, interviews, theatrical animations, video games) were created specifically to satisfy visitors' curiosity and need for in-depth information.
Mascots For and Mica, two prudent little ants who know how to manage their resources well and waste nothing, will accompany even the youngest visitors along the museum tour with animated videos, authoritative in content but witty in their display mode.
The Museum is the leader of several projects of financial education for schools of all levels and animator of events to deepen and disseminate the basic financial culture.
One room is entirely dedicated to the symbol of savings: it houses a collection of more than 1700 piggy banks (displayed in rotation) from all over the world, from different eras, shapes, materials and sizes.
From 22 February 2024, the Savings Museum presents Admire, a new interactive exhibit that combines art and economic concepts. With two stations VR and Oculus state-of-the-art, guests can enjoy an immersive experience where 10 works of art come to life to explain some of the financial principles, in an engaging journey between art and economics.
