MUSEO DEL COSTUME E DELL’ARTIGIANATO TESSILE
 included
includedThe Museum of Costume and Textile Craftsmanship is housed in an old Capuchin mission dating back to the second half of the 17th century. The collection on display, consisting of more than 1,000 pieces, documents the clothing system present in the past in the upper Varaita Valley. The exquisite architecture of the rooms acts as an evocative backdrop to a rich display, in which it is possible to observe all the elements that were part of the traditional costume: women's and children's bonnets with horsehair lace, precious jewellery, skirts in hemp cloth, ribbons and silk shoulder handkerchiefs, clothes made with a particular type of cloth obtained by "cold" felting wool and called "drap". Finally, there is no lack of multimedia facilities that enable visitors to learn more about the topics covered.
