MUSEO DEI CAPPUCCINI
includedOpened to the public in 2001the Milan Capuchin Museum presents itself from the outset as a museum of art and history. The assets on display come largely from the convents and churches of the Capuchin friars in Lombardy and stems from a museal process linked to the needs of conservation, security, study and valorisation.
Through a rich body of works, the Museum offers art history trails intertwined with the Capuchin thought, activity and spirituality, and the cultural and religious context in which the Order operated, in close dialogue with the tradition and history of Milan.
The collection is distinguished by its variety and breadthfrom the more traditional paths of Christian iconography, at specific insight into Manzoni, to the reflections on the theme of beauty offered by the donations from the late 19th and 20th centuries, which include works by leading artists such as Boccioni, Sironi, De Pisis and Morbelli.
The Museum is free admission, with the possibility of voluntary free offer. No booking required, except for the groups or for participation in specific initiatives, when indicated.
