Isolino Virginia is the oldest pile-dwelling settlement in the Alps and has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 27 June 2011, within the serial site Prehistoric pile-dwelling sites in the Alps. Extraordinary wooden structures have emerged along its banks, including flooring dating from 4840-4710 BC.
