MAS – MUSEO ARTE E SCIENZA

The history of the Museum of Art and Science stems from Gottfried Matthaes' passion for art and technology. This is the thread running through this Milanese cultural jewel, which uniquely proposes a path of knowledge of the work of art, from pure and simple enjoyment to the recognition of its authenticity.
PERMANENT EXHIBITIONS
The route on the recognition of authenticity in art and antiques is the Museum's flagship. Each section deals with a fundamental theme from painting on canvas and wood to excavated ceramics, from antique furniture to amber and ivory. All sections are accompanied by stations with microscopes and magnifying glasses to teach how to recognise the characteristics of authenticity.
Buddhist Art - A careful selection of the many remarkable pieces from Thailand, Burma, China and Japan resulted in the permanent exhibition entitled 'Buddhist Art of East Asia', which is considered one of the finest Italian collections of the Indo-Chinese area.
African Art Authentic Passion - This is one of Italy's largest permanent exhibitions of African art, with over 500 objects of high historical and artistic value from different ethnic groups in Sub-Saharan Africa.
TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS - The Museum often hosts temporary exhibitions, and a specific didactic exhibition is dedicated to Leonardo Da Vinci, where it is possible to obtain a great deal of information on his universal genius, both through the description of the countless activities he carried out during his stay in Milan, and through an unprecedented in-depth study of his 'Treatise on Painting'.
