MUSEO ARCHIVIO REALE MUTUA

Turin (TO)
included
The Reale Mutua Archives Museum is the result of a selection of the documentary material kept in the Historical Archives of the Turin-based company, founded in 1828. It is not a simple excursus of papers, objects, photographs, and films from the past and present, but an all-round cultural experience, during which the history of Turin, of Italy, and the economic and social evolutions of the last 200 years are interwoven with a topicality lived with and for the community, both national and international.

Vintage maps and photographs, posters and unusual objects, combined with an evocative multimedia set-up, weave together in a journey through time to discover the world of insurance and the many events that have shaped the history of Turin and Italy in Reale Mutua's almost two hundred years of activity.
Opened to the public in 2007 in the seventeenth-century Palazzo Biandrate Aldobrandino di San Giorgio, the Compagnia's historical headquarters, in 2013 the Museum was completely renovated, enlarged and equipped with multimedia in order to better enhance and divulge the documentary heritage kept in the company's Historical Archive. There are many keys to interpretation in the various rooms, in a continuous dialogue between past, present and future; the transformation of the way of working, changing fashions, needs and the perception of risk are just some of the themes touched upon during the visits.
The Reale Mutua Museum and Historical Archives are at the centre of an articulated cultural programme aimed at everyone: workshops, temporary exhibitions, extraordinary openings on the occasion of city events are just a few examples of the many activities proposed. The Museum also offers an educational project for schools, focusing on the importance of risk prevention and protection and the dissemination of the basic concepts of insurance culture.
The tours, which are always guided and completely free of charge, are customised according to the age, origin, different needs and interests of the visitors; the Museum, #MUSEOINCLUSIVE, is also a family-friendly and pet-friendly place, accessible, inclusive and promoting inclusion.
In 2020, the Historical Museum has evolved to become digital: a museum to browse and click through, multimedia, accessible, renewing itself: www.museorealemutua.org.
