The museum houses what can be considered the heart of Cremona's archaeological collections.
More than 500 objects are exhibited according to a thematic itinerary divided into three sections: the public space, where the monumental remains of the building, perhaps to be identified with the theatre, located at what is now Via Cesare Battisti, the private space, witnessed by the rich domus of the Labyrinth from Via Cadolini, the Nymphaeum from Piazza Marconi and Via Colletta, and the necropolis, with parts of monuments and grave goods.
Visitors to the Archaeological Museum can also experience the fascination of entering a house from Roman times through the use of an Oculus visor that allows them to move within the virtual recreation of some of the rooms of the Nymphaeum Domus: the peristyle, the pantry and a refined bedroom.
The San Lorenzo Archaeological Museum pays special attention to accessibility.
It is also equipped with teaching aids for the visually impaired and blind and offers easy-to-read and understand materials to accompany the visit.
