included Evidence from the past, especially from prehistory, is kept in the National Archaeological Museum in Mantua. Materials from various Etruscan necropolises such as the Valle Prati necropolis in Pietole or the Roncoferraro necropolis, where the inhumation rite is found, at Vallona di Ostiglia is one of the few known biritual necropolises.
The museum's collections include Neolithic, Bronze Age, Etruscan, Venetian, Celtic, Roman, Longobard, Gothic, Medieval and Renaissance materials all from the Mantuan area. The building is inscribed within the perimeter of the Ducal Palace and is located in what was once the Mantuan Bozzoli Market.
