Munlab | Ecomuseo dell’Argilla

Munlab Ecomuseo dell'Argilla houses a centuries-old kiln, a natural oasis, the working factory and its quarries, workshops, places to relax, and rooms equipped to tell the story of clay, territory and people.
Munlab from Mun, brick in Piedmontese, and Lab, a place where direct experimentation takes place: the visitor is involved in an itinerary that tells stories of life and work related to brick making, but also in the direct exploration of the material clay through workshops and laboratories.
Munlab researches, disseminates and valorises the memory of places, local know-how, environmental issues related to the regeneration of kilns and clay quarries, man-made signs in the landscape (terracotta architecture, fishponds, agriculture), design related to clay, and art related to the landscape.
It operates through the direct involvement of the inhabitants in order to generate and strengthen relationships between people, to encourage new lifestyles and consumption. The visitor route winds through indoor rooms and paths in the quarry and explores the properties of clay, the technology of brick production, and the stories of life and work related to the kiln world.
Cosy green areas offer moments of relaxation. The museum organises events, walks and exhibitions.
