The Ceramics Museum is located in the prestigious Palazzo Fauzone in Germagnano, in the Piazza district of Mondovì. The rooms overlook a superb view of the medieval Piazza Maggiore, the Cuneo plain and the Langhe, and retain their skilfully restored frescoes, stuccoes and furnishings dating back centuries. The visit to the first floor is structured as a journey inside a factory: particular attention is paid to decoration techniques. The floor is opened by the multimedia installation Making ceramics, which directly involves the visitor with sensory impressions of the various production phases. The second floor is instead dedicated to the history of the industrial phenomenon. A second multimedia installation engages the visitor in the gestures of preparing a table, setting the food itself, in a gesture that is full of poetry, simple and everyday. The six exhibition rooms give an account of the four major phases that have marked the history of Monregalese ceramics: the visitor will thus be able to appreciate the evolution of taste over the course of two centuries, grasping the very formula of modern industry and mass production for consumption.
