MeBo Menabrea Botalla Museum

In the historical centre of Biella is an exhibition space born from the collaboration of two companies with a long tradition. Casa Menabrea - Museo della Birra recounts the brewing process and traces the more than 170 years of history of Italy's oldest active brewery: a vital testimony to the history and passion that the Menabrea and Thedy families have cultivated uninterruptedly since 1846.

Botalla House - Cheese Museum tells the story of a dairy company that from the post-war period to the present day has built up equally strong roots in the territory; it is an immersion in the dairy tradition of the Biella Alps, to understand how it has evolved and innovated up to the present day.

Collection
At Casa Menabrea, the visitor can discover the history of beer, the raw materials used, the production process, the perfectly restored original machinery from 1846, the tools of the old coopers, workshop tools, bottles and mugs.
At Casa Botalla, the characteristics of Biella's alpine pastures and the animal breeds that live there are illustrated, as well as period tools and modern milk processing procedures, and even the creation of original products.

Activities
The museum organises guided tours and dedicated events and participates in various initiatives in collaboration with other actors in the area. By booking Experience tours, it is possible to discover the new wing, which is dedicated to telling the story of modern production and tasting the products that are the protagonists of the two companies. Thanks to the presence of expert lecturers, both from the world of beer and cheese, training courses are organised for professionals and food enthusiasts.
