Mastio della Cittadella

The keep is the only Renaissance public building in the city, Emanuele Filiberto's first important commission to Francesco Paciotto of Urbino in a Turin that had become the capital of the Duchy of Savoy.
The fortress is a construction of incredible beauty and proportions. The visit fills one with wonder: from the great central hall to the horse passages, from the soldiers' stairs to the terrace overlooking the gardens and Michelangelo Pistoletto's Third Paradise.
