MARTES | MUSEO D’ARTE SORLINI

In the heart of the Brescia hinterland, in Calvagese della Riviera, the MarteS - Sorlini Art Museum welcomes visitors in a spectacular 17th-century palace. Inaugurated in 2018, the art gallery unveils an extraordinary collection of 185 paintings, the result of more than 50 years of research by the entrepreneur Luciano Sorlini.

Through 14 exhibition halls, Venetian and Veneto art manifests itself in all its magnificence: from masterpieces by Tiepolo, Canaletto and Guardi, to the delicate colours of Rosalba Carriera. The collection, celebrated already in 2005 by an exhibition at the Museo Correr in Venice, is no longer a private treasure but a shared cultural institution. Here, icons such as the Madonna in red by Giovanni Bellini and the Old peasant woman of Picket line dialogue with gold backgrounds and eighteenth-century views, testifying to the transition from domestic collection to artistic heritage of excellence.
