The Maison Musée Berton, now a museum of Valdostan handicrafts, is a wonderful villa built by brothers Robert and Louis Berton in 1975 as a place for their holidays. Over the course of their lives, they collected furniture and handcrafted objects that they placed in the large house in La Thuile.

Today, Maison Musée Berton is a beautiful House-Museum built by the testamentary will of the Berton brothers who, bachelors and with no heirs, donated the house and the collections it contained to the Municipality of La Thuile, clearly indicating that it should become a museum and open its doors to all. Inside the museum, you can admire the Berton brothers' collections, whose pieces such as furniture and craft items such as tools, sculptures and paintings, date from the 16th to the mid-20th century and are representative of Valdostan craftsmanship through the centuries. The rooms of the house have remained as Robert and Louis left them when they were donated in 1998. One can breathe in a special air given by the richness and variety of the furnishings and objects, but above all by the incredible modernity of their tastes, which have led to fascinating combinations.
