It is the western appendix (on the left, looking at the façade) of Aosta's Town Hall building. The building was erected in 1724 (and therefore predates the Town Hall); the sessions of the General Assembly of States, presided over by the Bishop and the Bailiff, the 'Conseil des Commis' met here and the archives of the Duchy of Aosta were housed here. Today, the palace houses some municipal offices as well as temporary exhibitions.
