Built between 1790 and 1796 such as residence of Count Ludovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso, is also known as Villa Belgiojoso.
Designed with extraordinary elegance and functionality by the Austrian architect Leopold Pollack, represents a harmonious example of Enlightenment architecture and taste.
La Milan Gallery of Modern Art is internationally renowned for the value of its collections. The rooms of the Villa display masterpieces by Andrea Appiani, Francis Hayez, Cherubino Cornienti, Pompeo Marchesi, Quiet Cremona, Giovanni Segantini (Love at the source of life), Federico Faruffini, Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, Antonio Canova, Daniele Ranzoni, Medardo Rosso e Gaetano Previati - absolute protagonists of Italian and European art history.
The Gallery's heritage has been enriched over time thanks to the 20th century collecting and the donations from important Milanese families, which have contributed to making it one of the most prestigious artistic institutions in Italy.
Le rooms of the Villa also host works by Paul Cézanne, Giovanni Fattori, Vincent van Gogh, Silvestro Lega, Giovanni Boldini, Édouard Manet, Giacomo Balla, Paul Gauguin, Pablo Picasso, Amedeo Modigliani, Umberto Boccioni and other great Italian and international 20th century masters.
