FONDAZIONE STELLINE
includedFondazione Stelline, a historic Milanese institution established in 1986 by the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Milan, has its headquarters in one of the buildings strongly rooted in the urban fabric of the city for its historical and architectural values. In the heart of Leonardo's places, in the "Orti di Leonardo" (Leonardo's gardens) opposite the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie, where the Last Supper is kept, today the ancient palace lives again thanks to a restoration that preserves and enhances all its uniqueness: the stone staircases, the cloister corridors and the central magnolia, which has become its symbol together with the splendid mosaic floor work, created by Bobo Piccoli starting from 1973, as the signature with the date engraved at the entrance of the palace bears. This work, which connotes the entire palace, from the ground floor spaces facing the cloister to the upper floors, is one of the most interesting examples of Bobo Piccoli's research in which projects for architecture go hand in hand with painting in a creative tension oriented towards the unity of the arts. Art and culture are the main ingredients that make this place a multifunctional pole, in a winning mix with congress activities, where the primacy of culture is strengthened in the context of the strategic plan for the development of tourism and the economy under the sign of innovation and sustainability. Fondazione Stelline is recognised today as an important place for culture and planning, an inclusive and multidisciplinary reality, a cultural hub of national and international standing located in the economic and cultural heart of the city of Milan. Exhibitions dedicated to contemporary art and great auteur photography, as well as concerts, talks and museum teaching workshops, are actively part of the city's programme and carefully dialogue with the proposals and novelties on the international cultural scene.
