The bond between Cremona and violin making is indissoluble and ancient. Since 2013, the Violin Museum has added a splendid new page to this long tradition by handing over to the international community - thanks to the sensitivity and generous contribution of the Fondazione Arvedi Buschini - an important structure that combines the functions of Museum, Auditorium and research centre.
It is a place that not only celebrates the greatness of the past, but also looks to the present, offering a true journey through time in the world of violin making up to its most recent history. At the MdV you can discover five centuries of Cremonese violin making through a direct encounter with the great masters and their instruments - Amati, Stradivari, Guarneri - and their masterpieces. A unique collection, multimedia installations and a rich set of documents, concerts with historical instruments allow everyone to create an evocative and engaging journey where instruments, sounds and images combine to shape history, dreams and emotions.
