The Valsesia Ecomuseum is a museum centre on Walser culture in Valsesia. Established in 1999 by the Region of Piedmont, it is distributed in various locations in the Piedmontese valley, home to Walser communities that left an indelible mark on the territory between the 13th and 14th centuries through a form of culture linked to man and territory in relation to the mountains.

The Alagna cell of the Valsesia ecomuseum is the territory itself. Its slopes at the foot of Monte Rosa and the Walser anthropisation at the end of the 13th century. The encounter between the Germanic Walser culture and the high valley gave rise to: the larch wooden houses, the channelling of water with the consequent birth of mills and sawmills, fractional bread ovens and an entire community organised into hamlets and mountain pastures. The Walser society in its local evolution built ovens for lime production, to the conception and realisation of a theatre. A rural society that discovers an artistic soul. Seven hundred years of history make up the Alagna eco-museum.
