Ecomuseo della Resistenza “Il Codirosso”
Non in abbonamentoThe 'Il Codirosso' Ecomuseum of Resistance was established in 2002 on the initiative of Riccardo Assom, an artist, writer, historian and one of the most authoritative and authentic voices of Antifascism in the province of Cuneo. The project is rooted in the desire to keep alive and share the memory of the events that characterised the partisan Liberation Struggle that took place in the Alpine territories of Rossana and the Varaita Valley. The Ecomuseum therefore aims to be a useful tool for the Rossana and Varaita Valley Community to recognise, enhance and preserve the cultural, historical and natural heritage spread throughout the territory, to be a place of historical memory but also a forge of ideas, a centre of production, of dynamic and healthy cultural experience. The nerve centre as well as the primordial and original cell of the ecomuseum project is the Museum of the Resistance, originally located in Borgata Grossa di Lemma and now housed in Palazzo Garro di Rossana. The Museum houses a very rich material heritage consisting of hundreds of original historical artefacts, carefully collected over the years by Riccardo Assom and donated to the Museum by the partisans themselves or their families. A heritage made up of objects, artefacts and historical relics but also of stories, lived experiences, traditions and ancient knowledge. The ecomuseum offer allows visitors to discover the territory and its cultural, historical and natural peculiarities through accompanied itineraries, workshops, literary meetings, shows and food and wine experiences.
