ECOMUSEO DELLA RESISTENZA DELLA VAL SANGONE

This path is underlined by crucial passages and events such as the capture of Commander Milano, the great round-ups in May 1944, the conquest of the Sangano powder magazine and the death of partisan Commander Sergio De Vitis, the wounding of Commander Eugenio Fassino, the hanging of 'Campana', Marquis Felice Cordero di Pamparato and Giorgio Baraldi, Vitale Cordin, Giovanni Vigna, the tragic autumn of Giaveno.
The Ecomuseum was updated at the beginning of 2022 and in this work a special emphasis was placed on the possibility of getting to know this page of history through tourist and excursion offers. Routes in search of the places where the events took place, where pain and torment were consumed, and which today, fortunately, can be visited as places of extraordinary beauty of landscape and nature, as well as testimonies of life. The story is told through a sequence of panels full of period images and insights into the main characters. There are also memorabilia.
The tour begins with the welcoming of the silhouettes of Commandant Sergio De Vitis and schoolteacher Reginalda Santacroce, and unfolds with three emphases proposed by historian Gianni Oliva: the age of the commanders, the 'autonomous' character of the 'Sergio De Vitis' Division, and the internal democracy of the partisan bands.
