ECOMUSEO DELLA RESISTENZA CARLO MASTRI

Inaugurated in 2000 as a Place of Remembrance of the Resistance, and recently renovated, it is divided between the Museum Centre and various garrisons in the surrounding area. The Museum Centre has two rooms on the ground floor, one for presenting the Colle del Lys Nature Park - with its geological features with few equals in the world, known as the Rivers of Rock, and a very rare endemic botanical species, the Euphorbia gibelliana - and the other for introducing the themes of Anti-Fascism and the Resistance. The hall on the first floor houses temporary exhibitions and archival, sound, video and bibliographic materials, produced, collected and preserved by the Committee. The 'soul' of this building preserves a continuity with the partisans since during the Resistance it served as a warehouse and mechanical workshop for the men and women of the 17th 'Felice Cima' Brigade. The Places of Remembrance of the War of Liberation present at Colle del Lys - the Fossa Comune, where the bodies of 23 of the 32 victims of the Nazi-Fascist rounding up on 2 July 1944 were reassembled; Mompellato and Favella, hamlets of Rubiana; the eight Paths of Remembrance - are enhanced by plaques and information panels.
