Ecomuseo della Pietra Ollare e degli Scalpellini

Malesco is home to a regional Ecomuseum, established in 2007 and named after Soapstone and Stonemasons (Ed Leuzerie and Scherpelit in the local dialect). The Ecomuseum safeguards the cultural, environmental and traditional heritage of Malesco and its hamlets, Zornasco and Finero; it includes points of interest scattered throughout the territory and three museum structures: a washhouse with a permanent exhibition dedicated to the first person to cross the English Channel by swimming, Giovan Maria Salati, a historic mill and the Val Grande National Park Archaeological Museum. The ecomuseum is committed to the promotion of intangible assets such as the dialect or the historical carnival. The synergic relationship with local associations and the community is fundamental in the enhancement of heritage. As part of the protection of local products, an association has been set up, the Accademia dei runditt, which has obtained recognition as a Slow food community and the De.Co mark from the Malesco municipality.
