Through tools, machinery and documents collected and preserved over the years, the Eco-museum bears witness to the history of hemp processing, the cultivation of which has been attested in the Carmagnola area since 1235. The ecomuseum was opened to the public in 1998, to tell the story of the processing of the fibre and the manufacture of ropes, whose success in the past was so great that it earned the city of Carmagnola the nickname of the hemp empire
