Non in abbonamento The Eco-museum of Lake Orta and Mottarone (Ecomuseo Cusius), established in 1997 through the association of local authorities, museums and visitable sites located around the lake and on the slopes of Mottarone, consists of a dense network of themes organised around three main itineraries: material culture, art and nature.
The Eco-museum of Lake Orta and Mottarone, with its multiple cultural offerings, thus represents a model of cultural offerings linked to the enhancement and protection of local environmental, cultural and historical-ethnographic resources.
The Ecomuseum, which embraces the area of Cusio, Val Strona, Mottarone up to the gates of Val d'Ossola and the slopes sloping down towards Lake Maggiore, can be imagined as a network that interweaves areas and themes, for the rediscovery of the entire territory, not only in its cultural aspects, but also in those of landscape, material culture, handicrafts and local industry, and leisure opportunities also aimed at sustainable tourism.
