Ecomuseum
Ecomuseo del basso Monferrato Astigiano
Non in abbonamentoThe Basso Monferrato Astigiano (BMA) Eco-museum covers the Versa valley, as well as a large area that includes more than seventy municipalities, mostly in the province of Asti and others in the province of Alessandria. The ecomuseum aims to promote the territory through the study of the past, local culture, rural life and archaeology. The Ecomuseum's operational sites are: the collection of woodworking tools in Pino d'Asti, the simulated archaeological excavation in Grazzano Badoglio, the printing and composing workshop in Berzano San Pietro, the xylotheque in Morialdo and the civic museum in Moncalvo. Educational programmes have also been launched to interpret the memory of the territory using the interpretative tools of the arts: literature, music, performing arts, plastic arts, figure theatre, photography and dance. Another important chapter of the Asti Ecomuseum is the collaboration with the artisan and agricultural production sectors that have the role of perpetuating the local memory through the iteration of a 'know-how' that is enriched with new technologies, new professional skills, new forms of financing, but that keeps firmly rooted in its past and tradition.
