included A short walk from the centre of Cogne, along the road leading to the village of Gimillan, is a museum offering a fascinating insight into the mining world of the Aosta Valley.
The exhibition tells the story of some of the region's major mines, the harsh everyday life of the miners, the stages of ore extraction and the subsequent process of transport, processing and transformation.
The Exhibition Centre allows visitors to immerse themselves in the reality of life in the mines: from the dark, cold tunnels to the explosions, from the voices of the workers to the testimonies of the mining villages, from the oldest, Colonna, to the most recent, Costa del Pino.
A journey through time and space, through the symbolic places of mining in Valle d'Aosta - Brusson, Cogne, La Thuile, Ollomont, Saint-Marcel - to relive the mining experience first-hand.
