The inner courtyard is the most valuable architectural element of the building, embellished by sumptuous terracotta decorations. I side elevations, extensively remodelled over time, do not present elements of particular interest.
The complex borders the Cascina Mauriziana, alongside the parish church of St Bartholomew. The north elevation, overlooking the fishpond and on the avenue leading to the road to Turin, is the most articulate and suggestive and is enriched by a splendid staircase half of the Eighteenth century, of probable inspiration juvarriana. The south elevation, on the other hand, is distinguished by remarkable quality of wall mass; one double flight of stairs leads to the main floor.
Between 1780 and 1815, the building was home to the Royal Porcelain Manufactory of Dr. V. A. Gioanetti.
The castle can only be visited during exhibitions, events and cultural events.
