House of the Green Count

The Casa del Conte Verde is an important example of 15th-century Piedmontese architecture. The building hosts various cultural events and temporary exhibitions.
A unique and precious testimony of a noble residence of the 14th-15th century, the Casa del Conte Verde is a significant example of a building preserved in all its complexity with the stratification of its commercial and residential functions, and at the same time of a modern renovation and reuse in an urban context.
Located in the oldest part of the historic centre of Rivoli, the House overlooks the narrowest stretch of Via Piol. Popular tradition has attributed this name to the building because it dates back to the time of Count Amadeus VI of Savoy (1334-1383), nicknamed the Green Count because of the suit he wore at tournaments.
