included The Chapel of San Lorenzo in San Giorio di Susa, also known as the Chapel of the Count, contains a precious cycle of frescoes dating from around 1328. The paintings depict scenes from the life of Christ, the martyrdom of Saint Lawrence and the evocative Legend of the Three Living and the Three Dead, offering a rare and intense testimony of early 14th-century French-Piedmontese figurative culture.
The Chapel of San Lorenzo in San Giorio di Susa is part of the Diocesan Museum System and is located in the church square. The building was built in 1328 by the castellan Lorenzetto Bertrandi, who also commissioned the pictorial decoration to an anonymous French-Piedmontese master.
On the outside, a precious fragment on the south side with St Christopher and the Adoration of the Magi is preserved. The interior, on the other hand, houses an articulated cycle of 14th-century frescoes: from scenes from the life of Christ to the evocative representation of the Legend of the Three Living and the Three Dead, to episodes dedicated to the life of Saint Lawrence, the chapel's titular saint.
