Cultural inclusion and participation for girls and boys through books and reading!
Abbonamento Musei is a partner in the project WITH TEXTS which promotes in Turin the Inclusive reading in the 0-6 age group.
The idea behind CON TESTI is that all children between the ages of 0 and 6, even and especially the most fragile children, participate in culture and have access to books.
At the end of May 2023 12 shelves of inclusive books around the cityin advice centres, health centres, museums, libraries.
CON TESTI therefore wants to contaminate meeting spaces with good practices of inclusion thanks to the approximately 2500 books distributed in the city.
The books, translated into Alternative Augmentative Communication symbols by the Bottega Editoriale Paideia and printed independently, contain interactive game pages, multi-modal reading texts, silent books, of illustrations only.
The real novelty of CON TESTI is that it was born from a network of subjectseven very different from each other, engaged in the care of children from 0 to 6 years - with special attention to the fragile and disadvantaged - putting the family at the centre. The network is united by the common objective of strongly believe in the idea that books and reading are engines of inclusive community processes.
From September to December there are reading workshops also in 10 museums in the Abbonamento Musei circuitconducted by the Teatrulla Association.
WITH TEXTS is promoted by the Paideia Foundationtogether with ASL City of Turin with the Children's and Youth Health House, Museum Subscription Association, CCW Cultural Welfare Centre, Municipality of Turin
with the Turin Civic Libraries e TurinPiedmont Book Network. The project activity, scheduled to run until March 2024, is implemented with funding from the Centre for Books and Reading.
