A summer of culture, music and cinema at high altitude

A packed programme of summer events focusing on art, popular science and entertainment is about to get underway. Admission is free to all events.

The “Arnaldo Tazzetti” Alpine Civic Museum remains the beating heart of cultural life in the Lanzo Valleys for the summer of 2026 as well. Alongside the three exhibitions of contemporary art and sculpture already on display in the area, The museum is offering a packed programme of events to entertain residents and tourists from mid-July to the end of August.

Literary events, film screenings, concerts and evenings dedicated to astronomy will bring the summer days to life, with a focus on sharing and celebrating the mountains. All the scheduled events are at admission free.

Below is the full calendar of events not to be missed:

July: stories and new collections

• Saturday 18 July (4.00 pm): Wednesday’s Stories. Book launch for Rossella Montà’s book: an afternoon event celebrating local fiction.
• Saturday 25 July (4.00 pm): The Museum’s new acquisitions. A special event hosted by E. Lavezzo, L. Favretto, E. Grande and R. A great opportunity to showcase to the public the latest additions and works of art that have become part of the museum’s collection.

August: a month of cinema, music and stars

• Saturday 1 August (4.30 pm): It’s almost like turning on a tap…. A meeting with Antonella Reffieuna Roch, dedicated to the memory of school poems and more.
• Sunday 2 August (5.00 pm): Concerto for solo piano. An afternoon of music featuring the piano playing of Alessandro Vaccarino.
• Wednesday 5 August (9.00 pm): Screening of the documentary A Piedmontese paradise, a visual journey by Paolo Griffa through the unspoilt peaks of the Gran Paradiso National Park.
• Friday 7 August (9.00 pm): Vocal and piano recital. An atmospheric evening of music with Maria Grazia Aschei and Cecilia Nonne.
• Saturday 8 August (3.30 pm): An afternoon dedicated to the little ones, featuring a special screening of the film Abel – The Son of the Wind, directed by Gerardo Olivares and Otmar Penker.
• Monday 10 August (9.00 pm): Journeying amongst the stars. A fascinating evening of popular science with Gabriella Bernardi, exploring comets, moons and star catalogues studied by the great female astronomers of the past. Followed by, Guided observation of the starry sky through a telescope published by the INAF (National Institute of Astrophysics).
• Wednesday 12 August (9.00 pm): Great arthouse cinema at high altitude with the screening of the film Murder on the Eiger, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood.
• Friday 14 August (5.00 pm): Concert: “Songs by various composers to be performed on all manner of instruments”. A classical music performance by the flute quartet comprising F. Lanza, S. Ruffino, I. Silano and D. Strukan Garrone.
• Monday 17 August (9.00 pm): Film night featuring a screening of Fioremio, a film directed by the writer and director Paolo Cognetti.
• Wednesday 19 August (9.00 pm): The festival concludes with a screening of the documentary film The Milky Way, directed by Luigi D’Alife.
